UTEC receives $50K boost for community outreach efforts

UTEC, the anti-violence group aimed at reaching at-risk youth through programming and education in Haverhill, Lawrence and Lowell, recently received a $50,000 boost from the Patriots Foundation and Bank of America when UTEC became a Community Captain during a new program launched by the Patriots Foundation.


Rep. Lori Trahan and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra joined with UTEC leaders as well as state and local partners to highlight federally supported programs with a proven track record of reducing youth recidivism and addressing gun violence in Lowell, Lawrence and Haverhill.

Ground Broken on Event Space

Construction for UTEC’s outdoor event space broke ground at the agency’s headquarters in downtown Lowell last month, paving the way for the development of land that will be used to host community events, support jobs for young adults and create room for the agency’s child care center.
