Community Engagement and Mobilization Panel

This panel brings together grassroots leaders and organizers with lived experience to identify the core principles of authentic community mobilization and explore the practical steps required to build and execute an effective plan. Panelists will break down how campaigns move from vision to action, from planting the initial seed to achieving meaningful outcomes, and examine the critical role community mobilization plays at every stage. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to ground their work in shared values, develop strategic plans, and lead efforts from start to finish with equity and justice at the forefront.

Training Learning Objectives

  • Understand principles of community mobilization – Participants will identify at least 3 key principles of community mobilization and outline at least 4 essential steps required to develop a community mobilization plan.
  • Develop action planning skills for gun violence prevention – Participants will describe at least 4 steps needed to create an action plan and draft a basic action plan that addresses at least 2 barriers to gun violence prevention.
