Over the years, the New England Streetworker Conference has become a cornerstone event for frontline street outreach workers in our region, offering a platform to celebrate and educate those dedicated to community violence intervention.

Support for CVI community, including streetworkers

Training Learning Objectives

  • Build professional connections – During the event, participants will connect with at least 5 violence interventionists and streetworkers, with the opportunity of exchanging contact information to expand their professional network.
  • Engage in peer support and knowledge exchange – Participants will be able to actively contribute to at least 3 conversations or sessions, where they both offer and receive advice, strategies, and encouragement related to CVI work.
  • Learn and identify best practices – Participants will be able to attend at least 2 workshops and identify 2 or more best practices relevant to their work.
  • Strengthen understanding of community mobilization – Participants will engage in sessions focused on community mobilization and identify at least 3 actionable strategies discussed during the event.
  • Participate in professional development – Participants will take part in at least 2 professional development sessions and note key skills or approaches they can use in their roles.
  • Network and celebrate collective work – Participants will attend at least 2 networking or celebratory activities and engage with peers to acknowledge and reflect on shared successes in CVI work.
  • Contribute to strengthening the streetwork field – During discussions and sessions, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, insights, or resources at least twice to contribute to collective learning and field-building.
  • Support staff wellness – Participants will have an opportunity to learn 1-2 wellness practices.
