Training Learning Objectives

  • Expand professional network – By the end of the event, participants will have the opportunity to form at least 5 new connections with community violence interventionists and streetworkers and exchange contact information for continued communication.
  • Engage in peer support and knowledge sharing – During the event, participants will have the opportunity to actively participate in at least 3 discussions where they both provide and receive advice, strategies, and encouragement related to CVI work.
  • Strengthen culture, connection, and joy – During the event, participants will take part in at least 2 community-building activities and engage with peers in ways that foster a sense of connection, shared purpose, and celebration of their work.

Training Syllabus / Curriculum

  • Connecting with Peers in Streetwork and CVI: Meet and engage with streetworkers, outreach staff, and community violence intervention (CVI) practitioners from across different organizations and communities.
  • Sharing Experiences and Promising Practices: Exchange ideas, lessons learned, and strategies that support effective street outreach and violence prevention efforts.
  • Building Cross-Community Partnerships: Explore opportunities to collaborate with organizations and programs working in youth development, workforce development, housing, and violence prevention.
  • Strengthening Professional Networks: Develop meaningful connections with colleagues who share a commitment to supporting young people and creating safer communities.
  • Learning from Diverse Perspectives: Hear about different approaches to streetwork, outreach, and community engagement from practitioners working in a variety of settings.
  • Fostering Ongoing Collaboration: Identify ways to stay connected, share resources, and support one another beyond the conference.
