Donate a Mattress

Thank you for your interest in donating a mattress to UTEC!

We deconstruct all mattresses we receive to divert materials from the waste stream, which is a labor-intensive process and typically requires a recycling fee. However, a limited number of high-quality mattresses are accepted annually as donations and distributed either directly to individuals in need or through our nonprofit partners.

To be accepted for donation, mattresses must:

• Be clean and in sturdy, sleepable condition (no rips, stains, tears, burns, or broken wood)
• Never have been exposed to smoke, water, bed bugs, or other contamination
• Be delivered in a sealed mattress bag
• Be twin, full, or queen size (our most requested sizes)
• Come as matching sets if both mattress and box spring are donated
• Be approved in advance—submit photos and complete this donation form

If approved, you’ll receive a donation certificate to present when dropping off. Please note we cannot issue tax donation letters for mattresses.
