After getting locked up, I was on house confinement, and UTEC gave me a way to get out of the house and get a job.

I had lost my best friend as a result of gun violence. If we want people to say no to violence, you need to give them something to look forward to. They’re not working towards anything if they’re too worried on the streets.

For me, UTEC was something to look forward to, and now I can focus on working towards my future. I like that at UTEC we don’t just talk about making change, we do it.

I recently graduated with my HiSET!

I’m in the culinary crew because I want to be able to cook for myself and my family. I don’t like to see them struggle, so my goal is to be an electrician and be successful enough to provide for them.
