Madd Love Meals

Overview

At the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, UTEC made a decision to confront the social justice issue of food insecurity for the most disadvantaged and underserved members across the Merrimack Valley. The UTEC culinary team is training a future generation of food entrepreneurs with an emphasis on combatting food justice issues.

Emergency Food Assistance

Through the combined efforts of our Young Adults and staff, we have delivered over 2,000 of healthy and culturally appropriate meals every week to individuals in families in our communities.

Job Training

Our Young Adults gain valuable transferrable skills in the areas of food prep, culturally appropriate menu design, food preparation, meal presentation and packaging, and client services.

We are proud to work with community-based organizations throughout the Merrimack Valley to deliver Madd Love Meals to the individuals and families they serve.

Funders

Madd Love to all our partners who have made it possible for us to continue culinary workforce development while serving our broader community.

Sponsoring Madd Love Meals equips us to provide free meals to those most impacted by COVID-19. Spark sustainability for our communities and the UTEC Food Services Enterprises by covering a portion of our weekly kitchen operations costs. We will feature weekly sponsors on the UTEC and Cafe UTEC social media pages and across other media.

Cafe UTEC

Café UTEC is way more than your average lunchtime eatery.

While enjoying a delicious panini, a salad of locally-sourced veggies, or a fresh-baked cookie, you are also showing support of UTEC’s important mission to ignite and nurture the ambition of our most disconnected youth to trade violence and poverty for social and economic success. As one of our Workforce Development and Social Enterprise programs, Café UTEC provides youth most in need the opportunity to gain valuable job skills and real earnings to help them pursue positive life choices. Additionally, young leaders are engaged in the building and management of our businesses, further igniting their entrepreneurial spirit.

Cafe UTEC has been closed to the public since March 2020 as UTEC Food Services shifted to Emergency Food Assistance across our communities.
