25 Years of Empowering Youth

November 24, 2024

Lowell Sun — Lowell Memorial Auditorium was the site of a cheerful scene Wednesday evening as local nonprofit UTEC celebrated 25 years of providing support and services to troubled young adults, and helping turn their lives around.

With more than 700 people in the energetic audience, the night was a celebration of the years of work UTEC has performed in getting troubled young adults back on track. A major part of the gala was the celebration of 25 former young adults who once turned to UTEC to improve their future.

“Choosing just 25 honorees was no easy task, as so many incredible young adults have played a role in shaping UTEC over the years,” said UTEC CEO Gregg Croteau in a statement after the gala. “We are thrilled to welcome back these 25 individuals, each of whom has left a unique and lasting mark on our organization’s culture. It’s humbling to see honorees traveling from across the region, the country, and even as far as Germany and the Philippines to celebrate with us. Recognizing their contributions, some dating back to our founding in 1999, is truly an honor and a testament to the enduring impact of UTEC’s work.”
